Oh mY God you won't Believe this!

Does this baby look normal to you? Well I hope it doesn't! This is a new drug danger awareness doll. She's called drug baby. My daughter just sent me this sight, she's multitasking again...Anyway you must read the article that goes with this little doll picture. Click on the Title and you should get there.

I've heard story's about baby's that are born drug addicted, and from what I understand it's not a pretty sight or easy to be handled. They look quite different from your average baby, there are tell tale signs that you can spot the moment they are born. It's another tragedy that our nation is dealing with. Read the paper and see all the meth labs, and drug dealings that are going on everywhere around us.

These babies are being born constantly by drug using mothers. Often these babies are left to be cared for by the hospital long after the mother has given them up. In large city's I know they can always use volunteers to hold and rock these babies. Otherwise they cry and scream continuously. It is a terrible ordeal for a baby to go through, some do not even recover.

I don't know if these dolls are available in the US yet. Did any of you have to participate in the program where you had to carry around a ten pound sack of potatoes. This was supposed to mimic having a baby with you constantly. Of course the potatoes didn't cry, or poop their diapers, they didn't require feeding, and you didn't have to get up in the middle of the night with them.

For anyone who romantisizes (I know I didn't spell that right, it's not in my spell checker) about having a baby, there are plenty of things that are very unromantic about it.

This is just one more reality check that we all need to heed.

Tried to post here earlier but it must have gone to blogland. If you get two posts from me - sorry. When my kids were in high school they had to carry a doll around for a week. They had to take it with them everywhere. It would cry frequently and they would have to figure out what it needed, a diaper change, to be fed, etc. It would often cry two or three times throughout the night. They would take care of - after I walked down the hall, woke them up and told them their baby was crying.
