Tsunami Warning in Effect Well lets see here, it's now 8:57pm and we have a Tsunami warning until almost 5am. The sky is clear, there is absolutely no wind. My poor daughter Emily just called, she's freaking out a bit as she's scared to death of any major weather changes. So she's heading out to her dads, he's about 10 miles inland. She'll feel safer there. We're about 500 feet from the cliffs here, but pretty high up, 70 feet or so. Of course I don't really know how high, but we are within 1 minute of being on the top of Cape Foulweather. I'm not worried in the slightest, I'm not being flippant here when I say this could be exciting. Can you tell I have no life? The fire department is a block away so if there's a siren we'll hear it. If I don't write tomorrow, well either my computers all wet, or I didn't get high enough. ;-)

Looking forward to your report on everything tomorrow! :0)

Well Aravis the whole thing fizzled out. Nada, nothing. I waited for the sirens to blast, I think I did hear a little more traffic then usual out on the highway. But nothing. I guess that means I need to dig up that rocky and weedy circular garden out front that's overrun with weeds and rocks and stubborn dandelions. Though the renter or owner before me thought they would like nice, there are shells and agates imbedded in the soil in amongst the weeds that the whole thing will have to be turned over. I'm going to wait until the sun is high in the sky before I do that. A hint to any gardeners, if you want to display pretty things in your garden try to put down that thick black carpet of stuff that is made just for that purpose. It keeps the weeds at bay,and those that do pop their heads are easily pulled. You would have to buy landscaper grade though.

Glad you're safe! Fun to have a little excitement when there's no damage. :0)

It's now safe to return to baking that Devil's food cake!!!

I was going to say how nervous I was for you, but I see it was a false alarm.

Rather like when I shove everyone in the closet for 4 hours and no tornadoes come anywhere near us!
