  Flannel wrapped
beacon blinking blue and black
squawking seagulls in the dark
dark shadowed limbs of cedar trees
these in the morning welcome me

slippery deck with moss and dew
sliding slippers way to soon
embers from my cigarette
light the darkness beside the moon

steamy creamy sweet and hot
coffee in my heavy cup
morning moisture on the railing
flannel sleeves a constant warming

fingers reaching through the dark
grasp tendrils of light and spark

gently cradled and flannel wrapped
to warm my bones and ease my heart

Comments:
I like the imagery. I feel now as though I can picture you on those quiet mornings before everyone else wakes up.
